Life and Death are predefined. Each of us has our own Timeline
If you make the wrong choice, life will give you another chance to make the right choice. Events will repeat, but the actors will be different. Everything could be different, except that which you are supposed to learn – ie the core reason for the event. I believe that every Human being has a predefined Timeline.
Below are two examples, which were in the News.
A long time ago, there was a shooting at the Eaton Centre (in Toronto) food court (UPDATE: I believe that it occurred on Sat. June 02 2012). That day a female American Tourist was eating in that Eaton Centre Food Court. Suddenly she felt ill and compelled to leave the Eaton Centre and go outside. Seconds after she left, a Gunman entered the Food Court. He went to the exact location where this woman had been eating. He proceeded to shoot people in the Food Court. Had that woman been there, she would have died. I will dig out the News Reports of this. This post is based on “facts”.
This is where the concept of a Timeline comes in. Death is not random in my opinion. The woman discussed above had reached a point where her Timeline “in this life”, had come to an end.
About one month after the Eaton Centre Food Court shooting, Jessica Ghawi, this same woman had returned back home to the US. She and her boyfriend went to see the premiere of a new (at the time) Batman movie (UPDATE: The Dark Knight Rises) (UPDATE: on Friday July 20 2012 in Denver Colarado).
As the Batman movie started, a stranger had entered the theater via a side door. That stranger pulled out a gun and started shooting people. Jessica Ghawi was shot and killed. Yes, the very same women that had missed getting shot at the Eaton Centre in Toronto about a month prior, was shot and killed. This is all documented in News Reports.

Her Timeline had come to an end, and so did her life.
In another situation a couple was vacationing in Brazil on the Pacific coast. Their vacation had ended and so they headed for the airport, to get a flight back to Europe. They missed their flight. I forget why. The plane that they should have gotten on, ended up falling out of the sky and now sits at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean off the eastern coast of South America. UPDATE June 2019 – Johanna Ganthaler and her husband Kurt were the couple who missed the flight.
UPDATE; June 2019 – Found a new link (the one above died). They were vacationing in Brazil. They had missed getting on Air France Flight 447, which crashed in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean
They took a different flight and headed home (Germany, if my memory is correct). About a month later they were involved in a serious automobile crash. A piece of windshield cut off the Wife’s head and the Husband died later in the hospital. Again I believe that their Timeline had ended. I’ll find the News Reports about this.
UPDATE Jun 2019 – that accident was in Austria and not in Germany. I cannot find the news article with the details of the accident and that the husband also died later in the Hospital. I added Updates instead of rewriting the post.

The punch you don’t see coming
Perfect Timing. Your words hit home with me and I suspect will hit home with someone else. I hope that you will not mind if I print out this post and give it to someone. It may help them deal with the punch which life has thrown at them. I also believe that they will become an active reader of your wonderful blog.
“How would you like people to remember you, after you die?” Steve Wozniak, APPLE co-founder, answered that important question.
Steve Wozniak (better know as the “Woz”) co-founded APPLE Inc with Steve Jobs.He was in Springfield, MA and had a public questions and answer session.
As the session was about to end, Steve Wozniak was asked “How would you like people to remember you, after you die?“.His answer may surprise many. The Woz never let his Apple fortune go to his head.
His reply was: “I really want them to remember me as being a caring person, gave a lot, cared about others, and shared,“
You will note not one word about his fame and fortune, because to Steve Wozniak those things do not matter.
What mattered to Steve Wozniak was “Being a a caring person, gave a lot, cared about others, and shared,“

The Unique Connection. Pandora video showcasing the special bond between a Mother and Child
Pandora is a large Danish jewelry firm. They are headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Their jewelry is sold in over 90 countries.
In April 2015 they published a superb heart warming video on YouTube. Pandora filmed 6 kids, aged 3 to 6. The kids were blindfolded and were then gently moved towards a lineup of women. The kids were then asked to try and pick out their own Mother. Again, the children had blindfolds on and could not see. They could only use their other senses and intuition to pick out their Mother from the group of women. Each child succeeded in finding their own Mom.

Some may send me emails telling me “But it’s a TV Commercial”. My answer is: “So what if it is a commercial ?”.
Pandora’s video is also “Wonderful Art”. Beautifully thought out and crafted, making a simple point. It also touches your soul. Too few things posted on the Internet, or in life for that matter, are able to that.
Read the comments which were posted on TheOfficialPandora YouTube channel about this video. Women stated that they had cried, while viewing it. This video tugs at your heart, especially if you are a Mother. There is a special bond between children and their Mothers.
This video really makes a very powerful connection with the viewer, especially if they are a Mom.

True Love does last to the very end. Floyd Hartwig was married to Violet Hartwig for 67 years. He passed away while holding Violet’s hand. Violet passed away soon after.
My condolences go out to the Hartwig family, who recently lost both their Mom and their Dad.
Violet married Floyd, the love of her life, in 1947. 67 years later both Violet and Floyd were terminally ill and in Hospice care. Their kids pushed the two beds together. Floyd reached over and held Violet’s hand and then passed away. Violet passed on soon after.
True Love does last to the very end….

Human Cloning Questions: Will your Human Clone actually have a Soul?
There are people who actually remember their birth.
I believe that young children will have birth memories, which do not pass the 3 years of age memory gap and which then become part of the fog of infantile amnesia.
Apparently they (or their Human Soul) enters the body (Ensoulment) at the time of Birth.
That brings up the question: Will your Human Clone have a Soul?
Another question could be: Can a Human Soul be shared between two individual human bodies?
If your Soul is inside your body, can it also dwell inside your Clone’s body at the same time?
Some believe that animals have no Soul.
The Dogs which I have been fortunate to have shared parts of my life with, I believe definitely had a Soul. In fact, their Souls were probably way better than my Soul.
Our Dogs would never hold “a grudge”. We could shoo them off the couch when we had guests and the dogs would continue to love and care for us, as if nothing had happened.
As for me, I am quite capable of holding “a grudge” and can make people well aware of that fact. Eventually the grudge which I hold will fade, but it takes time – sometimes a very long time….
Our Dogs on the other hand, would always practice instantaneous “Forgiveness and Love“.
I mention family pets, because animals have been cloned. If I am correct and animals do have Souls, then where did the Cloned animals get their Souls from? Was their Soul somehow shared?
It was announced in the news (long ago) that a Human Embryo had been cloned. Such an Embryo was inside a petri dish and not inside a Human Mother. In effect it was already “born” into this world.
If it is true that the Soul enters the body at the time of Human Birth, then did that Cloned Human Embryo already have a Soul?

It could easily happen.
Your Clone will be young and vigorous, while you will be “just OLD”.
Could your Wife divorce you and then marry your Clone?
In such a case her Lawyer could argue that your Wife had “not” been “cheating” on you?
Your Wife’s extramarital affair with your Clone, is in reality “not” an extramarital affair, is it?
Your Wife moving in with your Clone, could also work for your kids. They would still have the same Dad, sort of.
Actually your wife might not need to get a divorce, since she would in effect remain married to you, You and your “younger” Clone, are in reality the very same person.
Her Lawyer could argue that your Wife should continue to have full access to your Martial Home and also to all your personal and mutual assets.
At least your Clone and your Wife would be happy.
I wonder how you might feel, if they locked you out of your own home by changing the locks on all the doors???

Human Cloning Questions: If your clone decided to kill you, would your clone be committing suicide?
You have yourself cloned.
A couple of decades later, your clone decides that the world that it finds itself in, world be a better place if you were no longer in it. So it decides to commit Suicide, by killing you.
Suicide is not a criminal act.
Huh?
People get charged with committing a crime, so that they can be punished by the legal establishment created by society. If someone commits suicide, they become “dead”. How does society punish a dead body?
So your human clone should be able to commit Suicide, by killing you and not have any legal worries…

Is the American Dream an Illusion?
Gregory Clark, a UC Davis Economics Prof., recently put together an article on the Foreign Affairs site where he posits that your parents and grandparents social status in society determines your eventual social status level and also that of your kids.

Numbers do not lie, but their interpretation can vary. There can often be outliers to any data set. For example, Steve Jobs of Apple fame rise to Billionaire status, readily comes to mind.
I also believe that access to higher levels of education can dramatically change the level to which one can rise on the Social Status ladder. Higher levels of education also allow one to network with other students who come from far wealthier families.
But I believe that Gregory Clark may have an important point and that his data set could very well be proof that the so called American Dream is in fact just an illusion for the vast majority of citizenry. I also think that this applies to most other western countries, including Canada…

Interesting article found in the Times Of India, on Mar 11 2013 (I’ll provide a link to that article below). It was about chopstick production in China. What are Chopsticks? They are two narrow and straight sticks of wood. Both are held by the fingers of one hand and are used to pickup food from a dish and transport it to one’s mouth.
Visit a local Chinese Restaurant and many will provide you with disposable chopsticks. Lots of fun for Westerners to try. Surprisingly, Chopsticks can be very efficient once you get the hand of using them.
The article gives a few figures about Disposable Chopstick production in China. They quote 80 Billion pairs produced yearly. That’s 160 billion chopsticks. Continue reading
