Proofreading and Blogging, the bane of My How To Blog Adventure. Taylor Mali video about Proofreading.

I check every post before hitting the Publish button. I will again check the post later the same day and to my surprise I will find more typos and errors. I could swear that the word was there before and that other one was spelled correctly earlier. Continue reading

Slowly but surely the Blogs are taking shape. I have been bouncing back and forth between dark and light themes. A light background is easier on the eyes. A dark background makes posts pop, especially photos. Continue reading

*** UPDATE – so that’s how it works. OK. You need to click on the Link above to get to the Artist’s Blog Post. ***

First time trying to do a  post about another Blog post. Hope I don’t mess things up.

I visited another Blog tonight. Something that I don’t have that much for lately. Once things settle down, I hope to check out more Blogs.

Anyhow this Blog is called “Masqua’s Art” and it’s on wordpress.com. I don’t want any kind of linkback or whatever. I’m posting this because the Artist has posted some really interesting and original art which draws one into the art and makes one think.

I enjoyed viewing the work and wanted to share so others can enjoy if they did not know about the Artist’s blog.

A Solar Storm of Epic porportions is growing. It is already SIX times larger than Earth’s Diameter.

Video is courtesy of NASA

NASA has been watching Very Closely a new Solar Storm which has been growing, ever larger, over the last few days.

Already more than SIX Earth diameters and it keeps growing. The Coronal Mass Ejection from this storm could cause major problems. It all depends which way the storm is facing when that eruption occurs. Continue reading

One of the great songs of the era which we have shared, is Bohemian Rhapsody. It is permanently welded into my memory banks. Queen was arguably one of the best bands, if not the best. They sounded as good live as they did on studio produced albums. Not an easy task. There was also never any lip syncing at their live performances. Continue reading

NASA’s EYES allows everyone to track in almost Real Time, space objects including the Asteroid 2012 DA14 which passed us on Feb 15.

The Earth seen from Apollo 17.

Asteroid 2012 DA14 passed Earth on Feb 15 2013. At approximately 14:25 it reached its closest point to the Earth. NASA’s calculation was spot on. They knew that even the our satellites would be safe.

One point which should not be forgotten, is that any object which crosses Earth’s path will eventually one day hit Earth itself. The next time that there might be a chance of an impact, with the Feb 15 2013 Asteroid, will be  in 2080.

It is thought that if an Asteroid was further away from Earth than our Moon, there was nothing worry about. Continue reading

An Asteroid will fly past Earth on Feb 15 2013. NASA calcs it will be very close, but it will not Hit Earth. Hope they are right.

Last year a Spanish home Astronomer apparently let the cat out of the bag. An Asteroid was spotted and a rough calculation was that it would either impact with Earth or be a real close shave. That news went around the world.

My How to Blog adventure. Theme search. Also discovered the importance of Keywords.

It wasn’t till I started this WordPress Blog that my learning curve went parabolic. I had been keeping the blog on my photo site for months. I did not give much thought to SEO or Keywords and Tags. The theme layout bothered me, but I found it frustrating when trying to customize it. When something worked I left it alone, fearing that I might break it.

Sure it all worked but I never realized how much better it could look, nor how many more people could actually find out about the photo site. That has all now changed.Since starting up this WordPress Blog and a clone on Blogger as a test, a whole new world has opened up.

Superb Prank video from Silvio Santos. Very well done and funny video.

Brazilian TV show Silvio Santos played an amazing prank on some unsuspecting people. Glad that I was not in that elevator, as I very likely would have wet my pants. Wickedly Good.  Extremely well thought out and executed. Extremely funny, when you aren’t having this Prank pulled on you.

Don’t worry about understanding the language. Everyone from anywhere in the world will understand what is going on in the video.

My How to Blog adventure. Created a different look and feel to this Blog…

Thanks to the comments and suggestion from Grace,  I made some changes. It is a good idea for other Blog owners to consider.  Ask someone who you trust to visit your blog. Then honestly discuss what “they” saw and felt while using it.

Have an open mind and make sure that you listen.

Quote Quote. The Tragedy of life…

“…the tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn’t a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster to be unable to capture your ideal, but it is a disaster to have no ideal to capture…”

Quote from Dr. Benjamin Elijah Mays

My How to Blog adventure. Not so fast…On 2nd thought this WordPress Blog will remain active..,

Earlier today, I had posted about focusing on my other test blog and not posting  any more updates here. Not so fast. I may have been mistaken.</span?

I asked someone whom I trust and who has a knowing eye to visit the two blogs. Had a great discussion with her. Thanks again Grace. Got many useful insights.

From my discussion it became clear that my decision was too hasty. The 3 column vs 2 column layout may not be as important as I had first thought. The WordPress 2 column I was told tends to draw a reader to the Post itself. On the 3 column Blog the eye moves around looking at the assortment of info in the column.

The WordPress Blog works on mobile systems. The Blogger Blog does not.

One interesting suggestion was to keep both blogs. Cross posting does not take that much more time. The worry is fragmenting the audience between them. Not an issue at this time, since there is no audience – yet.

So to make a long story short, I was too hasty. I will continue to try to improve both sites. I may actually try some 3 column WordPress themes, although I really like the present theme here. Maybe I’ll learn some Html and CSS and try to add a left column myself. Looks like this Blog is here to stay….
