Photos of “Doghouse Rose” performing at Canada’s largest Ribfest, in Burlington Ontario, in Sept 2015

It was the hottest day of the summer of 2015. The outdoor concert took place at the Canada’s Largest Ribfest, In Burlington Ontario.

On stage was a 4 member powerhouse band, called Doghouse Rose. They had recently return from a European Tour, as the supporting act for the American band called The 69 Cats.

The band “Doghouse Rose“, has a great stage presence. Their set was as much fun to watch, as it was to listen too. That is rather rare to find. Excellent Musicians, who also know how to entertain their audience. Catch them live whenever you can.

CNE Midway Stage Concerts 2015

The CNE Bandshell Stage is the place to catch some of the major Musicians and Bands passing thru Toronto.

The CNE Midway Stage features concerts from more local talent.

Actually the CNE Midway Stage is more like a huge outdoor bar with a really nice big stage.

The sound quality is just as good at the CNE Midway Stage.

I personally think that the guys handling the “Stage Lighting” at the CNE Midway Stage are way better at it,  than the folks controlling the Lights at the CNE Bandshell.

Last year I would enjoy and shoot the CNE Bandshell concert and when that was finished, I would head over to the CNE Midway Stage to catch the last set. Made for many fun CNE nights of amazing music.

Ok, enough of my rambling. The CNE Midway Stage Concerts 2015 list follows:

It was outstanding to catch Canadian Icon “Bruce Cockburn” perform. Almost did not make it. I arrived well after the concert had started. So glad that it was a rather long concert.

The end of the concert was also very cool, in that “Bruce Cockburn came back on stage to do an encore for all his fans.

Tucker the Schnoodle, plays the piano and sings along 3 to 4 times daily. It’s a Dog’s life.

Okay, all you “Cat” people. Can your Feline top what Tucker the Dog does a few times daily?

Video is courtesy of the KennedyFamily99 YouTube channel

Tucker’s owners got complaints from their neighbors, about Tucker’s partying while they were at work.

They setup a video camera and the result is this rather amazing video. It was shot back in 2010, when Tucker was just a year and a half old.

I wonder if there is a Piano Teacher out there who might like to try and teach Tucker how to play an actual tune on the family piano?

BTW, I love both Cats and Dogs and have had Cats & Dogs share amazing moments of my life…

Friends, Romans and Fellow Countrymen please lend me your ears

July brought Vincent the joys of country cottage life on Lake Rosseau, up in Muskoka. Okay, at least on some weekends.

That meant no shooting, on those weekends. Except maybe on Sunday night, if I drove back into TO in time. It also meant no post processing of photos.

PP is done on a dedicated desktop PC with a Color Managed monitor. Laptops do not work well for that purpose.

As it stands, I’m a little backed-up. Add to that, our reestablishment of our Facebook presence. It all makes for rather busy weekdays and late evenings

Things worked out OK with posts made in advance to open and display on weekends.

I’m trying to keep our Uniquely Toronto Facebook page active. Thanks to Facebook’s news feed, I can link to some material which I think many will find interesting.

August is just around the corner and if all goes well there will be much to post about.

Still have not heard back from the CNE, about getting a Seasons Media Pass again this year.

They changed some things regarding Seasons Passes Even Exhibitors it seems now have to purchase a pass. Should we get a Media Pass, like last year, we’ll cover as many of the CNE 2015 concerts as possible.

So while you wait for more pics to be posted on this site, may I invite each and every one of you to visit our Uniquely Toronto Facebook page.

Josh Ramsay, the Lead Singer, interacted with the audience from the far left of the stage all the way to the far right of the stage.

This guy did not stand still. Incredible to watch stage presence.

Later into their set Josh jumps off the stage into the Photog’s Pit, to get closer to that Band’s fans. This kind of stuff is rare for any band, let alone a Canadian one. He then proceeded to climb up and started to “body surf” in the audience, while singing. Again, something that one does not see here in “conservative” Canada.

Josh’s effort helped the fans feel like they were part of the performance. The fans really are the most important part of any musical performance. Band’s are on stage for their fans. The guys in “I Mother Earth” talk about it all the time. The Marianas Trench concert, showed that these guys also know this lesson very well.

Concerts are not just about the music. I have a great stereo, just ask my neighbors. I can listen to music at home. I go to concerts to “see” the band play.

The visual impact of Josh Ramsay’s performance was inspiring. This was old school, from Chubby Checkers “The Twist” to Elvis Presley. He worked the audience and the audience “loved it”.

Simply put, the Marianas Trench concert on July 15 at Nathan Philips Square, created life long memories for everyone in the audience.

The “Real” Magic of Shin Lim

Penn & Teller (world renown Magicians) have a show (called “Fool Us)  where they invite Magicians to perform and see if they can be fooled by the Magic Tricks being performed.

Shin Lim was a Pianist before he took up Magic. This video is of Episode 1 of Season 2, of Fool Us.

Shin Lim‘s performance shows that the impossible, is very possible.

Is Shin Lim using Magician’s Magic or is this the “Real Deal”? Watch the video and you can come to your own conclusion…

The interaction with the audience that the Singer had was something that is seldom seen. His performance reminded one of the late Freddie Mercury, when he performed with Queen.

Will post concert pics when I have a chance to do some Post Processing.
