Happy Birthday “Randy Rhoads”. “Black Sabbath” with “Randy Rhoads” performing “Mr. Crowley” Live in 1981

Today (December 06 2015) was Randy Rhoads birthday. The late Randy Rhoads would have turned 59.  He was an awesome Guitarist.

The following is what Ozzy Osbourne had posted about Randy Rhoads:

Randy Rhoads was quite possibly the best composer & musician that I have ever met in my life. He came into my life like a bolt of lightning and as such he was gone again. I consider my self one of the luckiest men alive to have not only met him but also I had the great honor of being able to work with him. I will cherish the time I spent with him till the day I die LONG LIVE RANDY RHOADS. LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL. I LOVE YOU ALL. – OZZY OSBOURNE

The video below, from 1981, features Black Sabbath, with Randy Rhoads on guitar, performing “Mr. Crowley“.

Smooth Guitar Tapping by Mark Roskilly, as he covers the Freddie Mercury and Queen song titled Nevermore

Way back in 1974 Queen issued the album Queen 2, which was recorded on August 1973 at Trident Studios, London. On it was a ballad called “Nevermore”, which featured Freddie on piano.

In the video below Mark Roskilly covers Freddie’s song, but instead of playing it on a piano Mark uses the Guitar Tapping technique. He taps out the melody and bass parts on his guitar. Skillfully played by Mark and it sounds amazing.

Guitar solo from Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb played effortlessly by Tina S.

Believe or not, she is only 15 years old.

Tina S plays guitar with extraordinary technical ability, while making it look so effortless.

Video is courtesy of the Tina S YouTube channel

One thing that is rather unique about this Tina S version. She does not use the Tremelo Bar / Vibrato Arm at all. She creates a similar effect by pulling and pushing the guitar strings. Check out YouTube for videos of David Gilmour playing Comfortably Numb, to see and hear what I’m talking about
