Photos of the “I Mother Earth” concert at WTFest 2015 in Brantford
The first time that I saw “I Mother Earth” perform was at Cosmo MusicFest. They set lasted about 1.5 hours and on a very sunny day. After their set finished the band did not head to an air-conditioned area. Instead they all headed to the side of the stage for a meet and greet with their fans. No break what so ever. Rarely does one see such commitment by a Band to their fans.
Dan, a friend, had turned me onto “I Mother Earth“. He is always saying how amazing they are. I now know what he was talking about and fully agree.
As luck should have it, “I Mother Earth” was going to perform at WTFest in Brantford. The weather held and I headed to WTFest.
It was interesting to see the area in front of the stage fill up just before “I Mother Earth” hit the stage. Prior to that most of the Festival goes were in the reserved “Drinking” area. “Big Wreck” came on after “I Mother Earth” and they filled about one half the number of people at the front of the stage.
From an audience perspective “I Mother Earth” was clearly the Band that Festival goers had come to see.
You can catch “I Mother Earth” next weekend out in Hamilton. at “It’s Your Festival“. Their set is scheduled for Friday July 10 at 8PM. Wish that I could make it. If you go, please email me any photos. I’ll give you credit and you retain full copyright to the images.
The outing to WTFest included a brand new Nikon D7000 DSLR. Even the FujiFilm S3 Pro was easier to learn to use. Most cameras are straight forward. The D7000 is very different from my D1Xs and D2. I bought it because it has the same sensor as my Sony A57, which is superb in low light. Should have bought a used Nikon D300s or D700 instead.
I’m finally forced to read the Nikon D7000 camera manual and the recent Jessica Stuart Few concert photos have turned out way better. The Autofocus is picky about its settings. So is the metering. This is the first Nikon camera that I dislike. It’s “my fault entirely” and there is probably nothing wrong with the camera. I just have to read the manual and play with the settings. Eventually I’ll get used to it and the photos should improve. Till then, it will be a rather frustrating battle for me. Next time I will rent a new DSLR before buying it.
