Photos of DESTROYER in concert at the CNE Midway Stage
Destroyer played at the CNE Midway Stage on Aug 24 2013. This stage is setup much like a huge outdoor bar. The Beer Garden has lots of tables to get together with friends and enjoy some great music.
The sound was great and the lighting (in my opinion) was better here, than at the CNE Bandshell.
I arrived after shooting the USS concert at the CNE Bandshell. Destroyer played a few songs and then took a break. Fans got to see a great set, after which they got a chance to chat, grab some munchies and beer. Then the Destroyer returned for another rock filled set.
To save me trying to paraphrase (while adding typos and other errors) what the CNE had written about Destroyer, I will qoute from the CNE’s DESTROYER web page : “After almost twenty years, and almost one thousand live performances, Destroyer is still the most sought after KISS tribute band to date. With several appearances at the Toronto CNE, The Calgary Stampede, The World Skills Competition, and countless Festivals and Casinos, founder Moe Rotondi has kept the band together and moving forward.”
That CNE quote explains why their playing was flawless. It also looked effortless for them. These guys are experienced pros with their stage craft. They are amazing musicians. Great to listen to and fun to watch these really good musicians play.
