I started processing the photos of I Mother Earth” performing at Cosmo Music which were taken with my 2nd camera – Sony gear.

For the Sony files I use DXO OpticsPro as the RAW file convertor and then just adjusted levels, curves, sharpen and added watermarks in Photoshop.

The “I Mother Earth” concert at the  Cosmo MusicFest at Cosmo Music in Richmond Hill Ontario was a long one. This allowed me to switch between the Nikon and the Sony gear.

I like the shots taken with the Sony gear way better.

The Nikon gear is more expensive ( 80-200mm f2.8 Nikkor and 100-300mm f4 Sigma are legendary) and the resulting pics should be head and shoulders better, but they are not (to my eye). The problem is that “I am” not used to shooting with the Nikon D7000.

One thing that stands out with the Nikon D7000 over the Sony, is that I can specify the lowest shutter speed when using Auto ISO. The Sony drops the shutter speed to keep the ISO lower and I can end up with motion blurred shots. Yes, I can use Shutter Priority mode versus using Aperture Priority which I prefer.

Both bodies apparently use the same Sony sensor, which easily handles low light situations.

Anyhow, will post more pics later this week.
