Concerts are an opportunity to see and hear some amazing musicians. The emphasis is on seeing. Concerts are a visual experience. If that were not the case, then we would just play a CD or DVD on the home stereo.

There are thousands of great Musicians. Yet some become popular. Everything else being equal, I believe it comes down to how well the band performs in concert. Then on a rare occasion, one gets to see a real diamond shining brightly on stage. Yes, I’m now talking about Saidah Baba Talibah.

In no time Saidah Baba Talibah commanded everyone’s attention, during her set at the Beaches International Jazz Festival. She quickly brought the audience under her spell. Her performance is energy filled, yet sensual. She moves with style and grace on the stage. Her creamy smooth vocals, are like icing to cover that that luscious “visual” cake she creates.

I had never seen this band perform. I had listened to people rave about them. To put it mildly, I was blown away beyond all expectations by their performance.

I believe that CP24 was there filming the concerts. Someone came over to the fellow doing the video recording for CP24 and told him to get ready as Saidah Baba Talibah was about to hit the stage. The guy was told to expect to get some amazing video during her set. I’m 100% sure that he did.

Their whole set seemed to flow so easily. It takes lots and lots of practice and experience to pull that off. It also takes a deep desire by the musicians to keep plugging away, until it all just seems to fall into place.

Along with plenty of experience and drive, I suspect that Saidah’s gene pool helped form her amazing voice. Her mother is “Canada’s First Lady of Blues”, Salome Bey. Have a read thru the Wikipedia page about her Mom, by clicking the following: Salome Bey Wiki.
I usually do not like to cover more than one concert by a musician. Sure I’ll go and listen, but not shoot. Saidah Baba Talibah is one band, that I look forward to shooting again and again. Their sound is Spell Bindingly awesome. Oh, did I mention that I really liked their performance?
This is one band that you must see. Saidah Baba Talibah is a unique musical treasure. Go and see this diamond shine on stage…
