“These Kids Wear Crowns” is a band based on Canada’s west coast in Chilliwack BC. There was another great band out of Chilliwack called “Chilliwack”. I wonder if there is something in the water in Chilliwack which help produce amazing bands every few decades??? It was real treat to get to see them perform on Canada Day in Vaughan. Took lots of concert photos.
Any musician who steps foot onto a stage has to be a good musician. Being a good musician and being a good performer are two different things. A concert is as much a visual experience, as it is music to ones ears.
“These Kids Wear Crowns” is made up of six superb musicians. It was really unique to see all six members of this band work hard to entertain their audience. The day was hot, but that did not slow these guys down. The music was full or energy, as was their performance.
They knew how to draw in their audience. As the concert progressed, they worked the audience like seasoned major acts. I think that is one major difference between being just an average band and a very successful one. They continually established rapport with the audience. The audience just ate it up, wanting more. That is something that you do not see that often. Sure major acts performing at the Air Canada Centre do this all the time. To see this happening at a small outdoor Canada Day Festival in Vaughan, was really unique.
I suspect that before too long “These Kids Wear Crowns” will be back in TO, playing at the large concert venues. Great music along with superb showmanship. That combination, is I believe one key to achieving major success as a band. This group has both in spades. Must see band, when you get a chance…
